Stacy Davies ~ Editor-in-Chief

Stacy is an award-winning journalist with more than 25 years of experience shaping arts and culture coverage with exceptional editorial vision and a proven record of excellence.

Her early career began with the Sundance Institute and Egg Pictures, founded by Jodie Foster, along with other notable Los Angeles film and television entities. She went on to build a distinguished career as an arts and culture journalist for OC Weekly and The Orange County Register, and as the founding editor of IE Weekly. Her storytelling for diverse audiences earned multiple First Place honors from the Orange County Press Club (2011, 2012, 2013), as well as the Society of Professional Journalists Excellence in Journalism Award.

Her writing has appeared in Juxtapoz, Laguna Beach Art Patron Magazine, Bust Magazine, LA Visual Art Source, Broadway World, and beyond. For over a decade, Stacy served as a film lecturer and historian at UC Riverside Extension, where she created more than 35 film courses for the OSHER program. She also hosted original film programming at the Rancho Mirage Public Library.

Her diverse media background includes years as a summer stock stage manager for Shakespeare by the Sea, as well as work as a radio engineer and show host at stations including KKJZ (America’s Jazz Station), KPFK, KMozart, and KX93.5.

Most recently, Stacy served as Senior Content Writer for SAG-AFTRA, where she authored congressional testimony, executive leadership speeches, programming scripts, and magazine features. She also worked as a visiting scholar and writing mentor with the USC Creative Media & Behavioral Health Center, contributing to their VR memorial project and other medicinal media and health game initiatives.

A native of the outskirts of Riverside—accustomed to rattlesnakes, coyotes, and the magical, mysterious beauty of the desert—Stacy now calls Joshua Tree home. After a three-year sabbatical, she returns to print journalism with fresh perspective and an authentic drive to connect deeply with the people, projects, and creative spirit of her community.
